BATC Aviation Technical Consultancy

Services

What we are brought in to do.

Seven disciplines across three phases of an aircraft's life with you — moving it, proving it, and keeping it flying. Each is scoped to a defined task with a defined deliverable. Engagements run from a single day of inspection to a full transition campaign. Parts and AOG are not among them — for those we introduce you to Shannon Technical Services Ltd.

Group A

Moving the aircraft

Transitions, in every condition they arrive in.

01

Aircraft Delivery & Returns

Transitions are where value leaks. We manage the technical side of an aircraft moving between parties so the handover happens on the agreed date, in the agreed condition, with the paperwork to prove it.

Typical scope

  • Review of lease technical conditions and translation into a working acceptance checklist
  • Pre-delivery and pre-return surveys, on-wing and in-hangar
  • Discrepancy identification, logging and tracking to closure
  • Attendance and technical representation during delivery or return check
  • Borescope, engine run and functional check witnessing as required
  • Verification of configuration, modification status and cabin condition against contract
  • Support to the acceptance or redelivery certificate and handover meeting
You receive: a tracked discrepancy register, a photographic and written survey record, and a clear technical position on every open item at the point of handover.
02

International Transitions

An aircraft crossing a border changes regulator, registry and paperwork standard at the same time. We plan that crossing before the aircraft moves, so it does not sit on the ground waiting for a document.

Typical scope

  • Export Certificate of Airworthiness preparation and support to the exporting authority
  • De-registration and re-registration planning, including sequencing with the lease or sale
  • Import compliance review against the receiving authority's requirements
  • Bridging of the maintenance programme from the outgoing to the incoming operator or authority
  • Records reformatting and gap closure to the standard the receiving authority will accept
  • AD and mandatory-modification differences analysis between the two regulatory regimes
  • Ferry flight technical support, permit to fly and pre-ferry inspection
  • Coordination between operator, CAMO, MRO, authorities and the new owner or lessee
You receive: a transition plan with the regulatory steps in order, the differences that will cost you time, and the documents each authority will ask for — identified early enough to act on.
03

Aircraft Repossession

When a lease ends badly, the technical work happens under time pressure, with limited cooperation and incomplete information. We mobilise quickly, secure the aircraft and its records, and establish what you have actually recovered.

Typical scope

  • Rapid mobilisation of technical personnel to the aircraft's location
  • Securing and inventory of aircraft records, manuals and technical logs at the point of recovery
  • Immediate technical condition survey, with photographic and written evidence of state on recovery
  • Verification of installed configuration, engines, APU, landing gear and rotables against records
  • Identification of missing, substituted or unsubstantiated components
  • Preservation, storage and parking arrangements for a grounded or non-airworthy aircraft
  • Records recovery — chasing down and reconstituting documentation held by the operator, the MRO, suppliers and the authority
  • Rebuild of the aircraft bible to the IATA ABC folder standard, indexed and complete
  • Return-to-service assessment, recovery workscope and ferry or permit-to-fly support
You receive: an evidenced record of the aircraft's condition at the moment of recovery, an inventory of what is present and what is missing, a rebuilt and indexed aircraft bible, and a costed route back to an airworthy, remarketable asset.

We act on the technical side only, alongside your legal and enforcement advisers. Mobilisation starts with a phone call — the line is answered 24/7 on +46 8 559 203 55.

Group B

Proving the aircraft

Independent evidence of what the asset really is.

04

Aircraft Records Review

The records are the asset. A gap found by us during a review is an action item; the same gap found by a buyer, a lessor or an authority is a negotiation you lose.

Typical scope

  • Back-to-birth traceability review for life-limited parts
  • Airworthiness Directive and Service Bulletin status verification against the applicable list
  • Maintenance programme compliance and check history reconciliation
  • Component status, serviceable tags, form 1 / 8130-3 completeness and acceptability
  • Repair and modification records, including STC and major repair substantiation
  • Dirty-fingerprint verification against the physical aircraft where required
  • Gap list with severity, evidence required, and recommended recovery route
  • Records recovery, and structuring of the aircraft bible to the IATA ABC folder standard
You receive: a structured findings report — what is missing, what it blocks, what it will take to close, ranked so you can attack the critical items first — and, where asked, the record set itself rebuilt and indexed to the IATA ABC standard.
05

Mid-Lease & Aircraft Physical Inspection

An independent look at the aircraft, at the point in the lease where finding a problem still leaves time to fix it.

Typical scope

  • Owner and lessor mid-lease inspections to the agreed inspection protocol
  • Structural and cosmetic condition survey, interior and exterior, with photographic record
  • Verification of maintenance standard and operator compliance with lease technical terms
  • Engine, APU and landing gear status review against the physical aircraft
  • Sampling of records against installed configuration
  • Assessment of deferred defects, repetitive inspections and open items
  • Pre-purchase and asset condition inspection support
You receive: an inspection report with photographic evidence, a condition assessment against the lease, and a list of items to raise with the operator now rather than at redelivery.
Group C

Keeping it flying

Technical control while the aircraft is in service.

06

Technical Representation

When your aircraft is in an MRO, someone has to be in the hangar making decisions in your interest — daily, in person, with the authority and the technical background to do it.

Typical scope

  • On-site technical representation at the MRO for the duration of the input
  • Review and approval of findings, non-routine cards and additional workscope
  • Control of scope creep, man-hour and material cost against the quoted package
  • Daily progress reporting and escalation of anything threatening the RTS date
  • Liaison between operator, CAMO, MRO and owner or lessor
  • Quality oversight of accomplished work and paperwork before sign-off
  • Support to the return-to-service and post-check documentation review
You receive: daily visibility of the check, a defensible record of every approval given, and one person accountable for cost, quality and schedule on your side.
07

CAMO — Workscope Preparation

A check is only as good as the package that goes into it. We build workscopes from the actual status of the aircraft, so the input matches what the aircraft needs.

Typical scope

  • Workscope build from the approved maintenance programme and task card set
  • AD and SB embodiment planning, including terminating action strategy
  • Incorporation of deferred defects, repetitive inspections and known repeat findings
  • Modification and cabin change integration into the check package
  • Support to RFQ preparation, quote comparison and MRO technical clarification
  • Materials and rotable planning input to reduce AOG risk during the input
  • Alignment of the package with lease return conditions where a redelivery follows
You receive: a sequenced, priced-out workscope package your MRO can quote against accurately — and far fewer surprises once the aircraft is opened up.

Parts & AOG

BATC does not supply aircraft parts. For anything in this category we introduce you to Shannon Technical Services Ltd — and step out of it.

What that means in practice

  • Shannon Technical Services Ltd is our source for aviation parts and AOG parts
  • We make the introduction; from that point the relationship is directly between you and them
  • Specification, quotation, certification, pricing, lead time and supply are all theirs
  • BATC takes no part in the transaction and no margin on it
Why it is set out this way: the introduction is genuinely free of interest. We are not a broker, we do not mark parts up, and nothing we advise on an aircraft is shaped by what someone might buy afterwards.

Systems

We work in your systems, not around them.

Whoever we place has used these before. That means no licence hand-holding, no week spent learning where the records live, and no exporting everything to spreadsheets because the contractor could not navigate the platform.

Engagement

Three ways to bring us in.

  • A

    Single task

One inspection, one records review, one survey. Defined scope, defined deliverable, defined fee.

  • B

    Project placement

An engineer embedded with you for the length of a transition, a check or a campaign — days, weeks or months.

  • C

    Retained technical support

Ongoing access to technical capability across a fleet or a programme, called on as the work arises.
